Hong Kong's Legislative Council suspended

The Hong Kong's Legislative Council was suspended on Wednesday after a fierce discussion between the Democratic Party chairman Wu Chi-wai and Secretary for Security John Lee over the police overusing power amid the protests in the city, local media reported. Wu was ordered to leave the legislative chamber by president Andrew Leung Kwan-yuen after he accused Lee of "turning Hong Kong like this."

For the third consecutive day, Hong Kong is under the blockage as the anti-government protests reach its 24th week. Main roads, as well as the railways, were out of order due to the riots in the city's central areas.

On Tuesday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry asserted that "crimes" committed amid the violent riots in Hong Kong must be punished.
