House to vote on Bannon contempt charge Thursday

The January 6 Select Committee, handling the Capitol riot probe, unanimously voted to recommend Steve Bannon for criminal contempt for failing to comply with the subpoena, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer announced.

After the committee voted 9-0 to proceed with the charge, the report moves to the full House floor for a vote scheduled for Thursday.

A successful contempt prosecution could result in up to a one-year sentence in federal prison or $100,000 in fines.
