Irish PM: UK, EU on precipice of no-deal Brexit

Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin (pictured) asserted on Wednesday that Brussels and London are currently "on the precipice of a no-deal," claiming there is only a 50% chance of reaching the post-Brexit trade deal.

"It remains to be seen how the principals - Prime Minister Boris Johnson and President of Commission Ursula von der Leyen - can rescue the situation in their talks this evening," Michael said speaking before the Irish parliament.

Earlier today, the head of the Irish government warned that the latest progress in the negotiations between the European Union and United Kingdom shouldn't be "over-interpreted," though he described the breakthrough on the implementation of the Withdrawal Agreement as "positive and helpful."
