Japan's prosecutors to indict Nissan - report

Japanese prosecutors are ready to file charges against Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. in the ongoing investigation of Carlos Ghosn over alleged financial misconduct, Nikkei reported.

Besides Ghosn and former representative director Greg Kelly, the prosecution will reportedly be indicting the automaker at the beginning of the next week for not stopping the former chairman from falsely reporting his salaries. The company will be charged for stating untrue information in five annual reports leading up to 2015, while Ghosn and Kelly will supposedly be held accountable for an additional three years of false claims.

Ghosn, who was the head of the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi Alliance was arrested on November 19. Since then, he has been removed from the position of the chairman of Mitsubishi Motors Corp. and Nissan.
