May: No-deal Brexit threat to our union

British Prime Minister Theresa May warned on Monday that a no-deal Brexit scenario represents a "real threat" to the United Kingdom's unity as she made a final push to secure approval for her deal with Brussels ahead of tomorrow's vote in Parliament. "With just 74 days until March 29, the consequences of voting against this deal are becoming ever-clearer," she told lawmakers, reiterating her withdrawal agreement delivers on the referendum results.

Speaking in the House of Commons, May underlined that approving the agreement would give the country almost two years to complete the next phase of negotiations as well as the possibility of extending the implementation period if needed. Although acknowledging the deal is "not perfect" and represents a compromise, she went on to state that any agreement with the European Union would surely contain a backstop and called on MPs to "not let the British people down."
