Musk meets China FM in Beijing
Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk attended a meeting with China's Foreign Minister Qin Gang in Beijing on Tuesday to discuss the modernization and development of the country's car industry.
According to the ministry's statement, China is committed to providing a market-oriented, international business environment to foreign enterprises, including Tesla, to support its "new energy vehicle industry." Meanwhile, the billionaire stated that China's "development achievements are well deserved," emphasizing the carmaker giant's stance against "decoupling and breaking the chain."
Earlier this month, the Shanghai municipality, which hosts Tesla's gigafactory, declared its intention to enhance collaboration with Tesla, with the goal of advancing various functional sectors such as autonomous driving and robotics.
