Netanyahu: Israel ready for Trump peace plan talks

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (pictured) said on Tuesday that Israel stands ready for negotiations between Israel and Palestine that would be based on United States President Donald Trump's peace plan.

Trump's scheme proposes a two-state solution for the conflicted region with Jerusalem as the "undivided" capital. The plan was lauded as "exceptional" by Netanyahu but criticized as "aggressive" and "one-sided" by Palestine, Hamas, Iran, and Turkey.

Last month, thousands of people protested in Tel Aviv against Netanyahu's plan to annex part of West Bank, which propelled a unified outcry by Hamas and Fatah, and international condemnation from the European Union and the United Kingdom.
