Pound falls to two-month low against euro

Sterling dropped to a two-month low against the euro after the latest YouGov poll showed the support for Prime Minister Theresa May's Conservative Party dropped following the terror attack in Manchester. The survey showed Conservatives' lead over Labour has narrowed to five percentage points ahead of the general election on June 8.

After hitting a session-low of 1.1465, the pound shed 0.61% against the euro to sell for 1.1474 at 10:36 am CET. The UK currency slid to the lowest level in two weeks compared to the dollar as it went for 1.2861. The pound fell 0.48% against the greenback to change hands for 1.2882 at 10:35 am CET.
