68 Yemeni civilians killed in one day by Saudi jets

Saudi warplanes have conducted two raids in one day, killing 68 civilians in Yemen, the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen Jamie McGoldrick announced on Thursday in a statement.

The air-raids were carried out on Tuesday, hitting a popular marketplace and a farm. At least 54 civilians were killed, including eight children, in a crowded market in Attazziah district, Taizz Governorate, while the second attack claimed the lives of 14 family members in Attohayta District, Al Hudaydah Governorate. Excluding these latest attacks, a total number of 84 civilian casualties was reported in the last 10 days, including 41 people killed, and 43 more wounded.

"I remind all parties to the conflict, including the Saudi-led Coalition, of their obligations under International Humanitarian Law to spare civilians and civilian infrastructure," McGoldrick said.
