FDA considering e-cigarettes sale limitations

The United States Food and Drug Administration is expected to impose strict restrictions on the sale of e-cigarettes throughout the country, the Washington Post reported.

FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb is set to announce a ban on the sale of e-cigarettes in convenience stores and gas stations, senior agency officials told the media. The sale limitations will be aimed at flavored vaping products which make up the majority of the e-cigarette sales. The FDA is reportedly alarmed by a big increase in vaping among minors.

Preliminary government data shows e-cigarette use rose 77% among high schoolers and nearly 50% among middle schoolers in 2018, the article states.
