Wall Street opens higher after jobs data, volatile session

Markets in the United States opened higher on Friday after closing deeply in the red following yesterday's volatile session. On the data front, US Department of Labor released a report showing a jump in nonfarm employment of 312,000, the most since February. Meanwhile, investor optimism grew on possibility of a trade deal between Washington and Beijing, as trade talks are set to resume next week.

Dow Jones rose 1.08% at the opening bell, propped up by major technology shares, led by Intel which surged 4.02%. The Nasdaq 100 was 1.64% higher as the session started. Electronic Arts soared5.59%, followed by AMD which jumped 5.01%. The S&P 500 increased 1.30% moments after trading started, as healthcare and technology shares led the gains.

The euro lost 0.44% against the greenback, to sell for 1.1348 at 9:55 am ET.
