European markets flat to lower premarket

European markets traded flat to lower premarket on Tuesday as corporate quarterly earnings kept coming in with HSBC and BHP Billiton reporting before the market open. Additionally, United States retail giant Walmart Inc. is set to release its quarterly earnings later in the day, before the opening bell in the US. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump confirmed the next round of trade talks between Washington and Beijing will start today in the US capital.

The FTSE 100 was down 0.11%, while The DAX fell 0.16% during premarket trading. The CAC 40 was flat premarket, only 0.03% in the negative territory.

The euro was 0.13% lower compared to the dollar, changing hands for 1.1299 at 8:53 am CET.
