Dow jumps 250 points led by Apple's 4% rise

Dow Jones Industrial Average gained over 250 points on Thursday during late trading on Wall Street. Meanwhile, big tech companies pushed the Nasdaq 100 higher, rising over 1.50%, while the broader S&P 500 increased over 1%.

American tech giant Apple increased 4.15% at 2:38 pm ET, as Needham upgraded its price target to $225 from $180, while Citi moved the level to $220 from $170. The rise firmly positioned the iPhone-maker on the top of the list of biggest companies by market capitalization, as the Cupertino-based tech company reached the $924 billion market cap mark at 2:41 pm ET.

The Dow was up 0.95% at 2:42 pm ET, while the Nasdaq 100 rose 1.51% at the same time. The S&P 500 increased 1.20% at 2:43 pm ET.
