Mueller delivers final Russia probe report to AG Barr

Special Counsel Robert Mueller delivered on Friday the final report of his investigation into alleged Russian election meddling to US Attorney General William Barr, thus officially marking the end of the probe nearly two years after it began in May 2017.

Attorney General Barr will now start the process of reviewing Mueller's conclusions about the alleged Russian collusion with US President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign. He is expected to create a summary document of Mueller's report which will be submitted to Congress, and possibly to the public.

In a letter to Congress, Barr said that he may be able to provide his summary of Mueller's findings to lawmakers "as soon as this weekend." He also confirmed that there were no instances during the investigation from which he could conclude that "a proposed action by a Special Counsel was so inappropriate or unwarranted under established Departmental practices that it should not be pursued."
