Europe lower premarket ahead of US-China talks

Major stock markets in Europe traded lower premarket on Thursday as a new round of trade talks between the United States and China is set to begin later in the day. US President Donald Trump slammed Beijing yesterday, pointing out that China is stalling the negotiations only to later negotiate with "weak Democrats." Additionally, US tariffs imposed on Chinese goods are expected to be increased to 25% on Friday.

As the corporate earnings season continues, ArcelorMittal, Deutsche Telekom, and UniCredit reported before the opening bell today. In the US, Dropbox and Booking Holdings are set to release their quarterly results after market close.

The FTSE 100 was down 0.56%, while the DAX fell 0.59% during premarket trading. Meanwhile in Paris, the CAC 40 dropped 0.98% premarket. The euro was 0.07% higher compared to the dollar, selling for 1.1199 at 8:54 am CET.
