US stocks trade higher amid earnings season

Wall Street was higher in premarket trade on Wednesday as investors focused on corporate earnings in the United States and awaited results of US Bancorp and Bank of America before the bell just a day after other major banks like Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase posted their quarterly reports. Tech is also set to be in focus as Netflix, eBay and IBM all report after markets close on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the trade war remains a concern for the markets after President Donald Trump said Washington and Beijing are not close to reaching a deal on trade. Nationally, the Trump administration is facing opposition over its immigration policy and the president is personally being criticized by the Democrats over his remarks on a group of ethnic minority Congresswomen.

The Dow traded 0.13% up at 4:45 am ET. The Nasdaq 100 gained 0.16% at 4:54 am CET and the S&P 500 was 0.13% in the green at 4:52 am ET.

The euro was flat against the dollar, going for 1.12101 at 4:55 am ET.
