European markets higher premarket amid earnings

European shares were in the green during premarket trading on Friday as the earnings season continues. BlackRock Inc., Schlumberger Ltd. and the American Express Co. were set to release revenue reports later during the day. BMW AG announced it appointed Oliver Zipse as the new chairman of the board of management.

In London, the FTSE 100 was up 0.53% at 8:55 pm CET while the DAX in Germany gained 0.62%. The French CAC 40 jumped 0.49% at the same.

The euro was 0.16% lower against the dollar at 8:54 pm CET, to change hands for $1.12585. The pound slipped 0.22% to $1.25181 concurrently.
