China proposes Macau for trade deal signature - report

Shortly after Chile announced that it no longer intends to stage the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which was supposed to serve as the backdrop for US President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping to sign the long-awaited partial trade deal, China has reportedly offered an alternative and suggested the leaders of the two nations could meet in Macau, according to Fox Business' Edward Lawrence on Wednesday.

The proposal comes at the moment when the text on the phase-one deal is yet to be finalized, although the two sides are, according to the US, getting closer to completing it.
