McDonald's HR head leaving after CEO

The McDonald's Corp.'s chief people officer and executive vice president David Fairhurst left the company, the fast-food giant confirmed on Monday.

Fairhurst's departure comes just a day after the company said its chief executive officer Steve Easterbrook was fired over a relationship with an employee. McDonald's gave no reason why Fairhurst left the company after 15 years, nor did it say who will manage the human resources job.

Company shares were down 2.65% at 10:28 am ET, to trade for $188.81.
