AG Barr orders review of Flynn case - report

United States Attorney General William Barr ordered a re-examination of the criminal case against former Trump administration National Security Advisor Michael Flynn who was found guilty of lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), NBC reported on Friday, citing people close to the matter. Barr is believed to have tasked district attorney Jeffrey Jensen with looking into Flynn's case.

The move comes just a day after Barr stated that President Donald Trump's tweets make his job hard after the Department of Justice intervened and said former Trump associate Roger Stone's sentence was inappropriate.

Flynn initially said he was guilty of lying to the FBI about having contacts with the Russian ambassador to Washington in 2017, but he asked to change his plea earlier this week which resulted in his sentencing being postponed until further notice.
