NBCUniversal negotiating to buy Walmart's Vudu - report

NBCUniversal Media LLC is negotiating with Walmart Inc. to acquire video content delivery service Vudu from the retail company, anonymous sources told the Wall Street Journal.

According to the report, Vudu's movie-rental business would supplement NBCUniversal's Fandango Media LLC ticketing company. Comcast Corporation-owned NBCUniversal is set to launch its Peacock streaming service in July and Vudu is expected to contribute extra features to it.

Back in 2010, Walmart bought Vudu for a reported amount of $100 million.
