Bitcoin falls over 23%, reaches 10-month low

The world's biggest cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, suffered a major decline on Thursday falling more than 16% after United States President Donald Trump announced yesterday the country will suspend all travel from Europe, excluding the United Kingdom, for 30 days starting with Friday in order to contain the coronavirus outbreak.

Other cryptocurrencies such as ethereum and bitcoin cash dropped as well by 27.37% and 21.80% respectively. The decline was also spurred by constant fall in oil markets.

At 6:02 am ET bitcoin was down 23.09% to $6,178. At the same time, Bitcoin Cash was down 28.14% against the dollar changing hands for $193.34. Meanwhile, Bitcoin SV fell 22.20% at 6:07 am ET, going for $148.77.
