JPMorgan to close 20% of branches over COVID-19

The largest United States bank by assets, JPMorgan Chase, said on Wednesday it will temporarily close some 20% of its branches due to the coronavirus outbreak. JPMorgan is the first among US banks to announce such a move in an effort to fight the spread of the coronavirus.

"This will help us protect our employees as we provide essential services to our customers and the communities we serve," the bank told its employees on Wednesday. JPMorgan Chase has 256,981 employees and 4,976 branches. So far, banks have banned employee travel and sent staff to work from home.
