Boeing to suspend S. Carolina ops temporarily

Boeing annouced on Monday that it will suspend all operations at Boeing South Carolina as of the end of the working day on Wednesday 8. The decision was made due to the coronavirus, the company added and noted this means that the 787 program will be impacted by the halt in production.

Brad Zaback, vice president and general manager of the 787 Program, stated: "It is our commitment to focus on the health and safety of our teammates while assessing the spread of the virus across the state, its impact on the reliability of our global supply chain and that ripple effect on the 787 program."

Boeing stock declined 1.29% in after hours after jumping 19.47% at the end of the trading session.
