Boeing considering a 10% workforce reduction - report

Boeing Co. is reportedly considering reducing its workforce by 10%, as the company faces struggles amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the aircraft manufacturer is contemplating buyouts, early retirements, as well as involuntary layoffs primarily in its commercial arm. Although no decisions have been made yet, sources familiar with the matter told the news outlet, cutting its workforce remains an option for the company in order to mitigate the effects of the pandemic.

Earlier in the month, in a letter sent to staff, the aerospace giant offered voluntary layoffs so the employees who wish to leave the company can do so with a pay and benefits package.
