N. Carolina police deploys chemical agents to disperse protests

North Carolina police confirmed the use of chemical agents to disperse protests after demostrators refused to leave 4th street in Charlotte, throwing rocks, bottles and chemical agents at police. Additionally, police in Charlotte arrested an individual with an AR Rifle.

Local lawenforcement claimed the dispersal orders were put in place to protect peaceful protesters from rioters.

However, a number of posts on social media claimed that the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department trapped 600 protesters in a parking garage and fired tear gas and pepper balls at them.
