Pompeo: US to end defense exports to HK

United States Secretary of the State Mike Pompeo said on Monday the country is ending its exports of defense equipment and sensitive dual-use technologies to Hong Kong in accordance with the recently passed Hong Kong Autonomy Act.

"Today, the United States is ending exports of the State Department's Political-Military Affairs-controlled US origin defense equipment and sensitive Department of Commerce-controlled dual-use technologies to Hong Kong. If Beijing now treats Hong Kong as "One Country, One System," so must we," Pompeo wrote on Twitter.

The US recently introduced sanctions against China for enforcing the controversial national security law and imposed visa restrictions on Chinese officials associated with it. China then responded by introducing visa restrictions for American politicians for interfering in Hong Kong.
