National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley have departed from the International Space Station (ISS) in Dragon the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft on Sunday, successfully completing the first stage of their return to Earth.

They are set to start a coast phase, traveling through the atmosphere from space and getting ready to deploy the parachutes to drop into the Atlantic Ocean.

The undocking, coast and splashdown phases are all meant to be done via automation by the SpaceX control system, including burns to control the Dragon Crew's travel from the ISS and its controlled descent through the atmosphere.
