FAA issues proposal for Boeing 737 MAX return

The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced steps that Boeing should undertake so that its 737 MAX aircraft, which has been grounded over safety concerns since March 2019, could be allowed to fly once again.

The proposal issued by the FAA includes new checklists for pilots, hardware and software updates as well as maintenance procedures. The FAA's document is now open for comments to the public and the regulators will issue its demands to Boeing after the 45-day comment period ends.

The 737 MAX was grounded after 346 people were killed in two separate accidents that took place in less than 6 months.
