Europe opens higher ahead of German inflation data

Equities on major European stock markets were higher at the start of trading sessions on Monday as traders prepared for the August inflation figures for Germany. Also, the investors will monitor the situation regarding the recent surges in the number of coronavirus cases in several European countries.

The DAX rose by 0.41% at 9:01 am CET as HeidelbergCement led the gains, ticking 1.79% higher at 9:07 am CET. The CAC 40 increased by 0.85% at 9:04 am CET with ArcelorMittal S.A. gaining 1.77% at 9:03 am CET. The London Stock Exchange will be closed today for the Summer Bank Holiday.

The euro was flat compared to the dollar at 9:08 am CET, trading for 1.19029. The British pound decreased by 0.12% against the American currency, going for 1.33348 one minute later.
