Global coronavirus infections surpass 30M

The number of global COVID-19 cases climbed above 30 million during the day on Wednesday, as the death toll topped 940,000, the data compiled by Worldometers showed.

Having confirmed over 6.8 million cases since the pandemic started, the United States remains the worst-hit nation, leading the world in both the number of coronavirus fatalities and viral infections.

India holds the second place as its cumulative number of cases recently topped 5 million, while Brazil lags behind with over 4.4 million people contracting the disease in the country since the beginning of the outbreak.
