Asia higher after optimistic data from Japan

Shares in the Asia-Pacific region traded higher on Monday as the traders digested somewhat economic data from Japan. After Tokyo's Finance Ministry revealed that the country's trade surplus rose to ¥663.7 billion in March, its Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry published data that showed that February's industrial production figure in the Asian country slid less than what was expected.

Japan's Nikkei 225 stood flat at 7:28 am CET, with the Australian S&P 200 0.21% higher a minute later. South Korea's Kospi added 0.07% at 7:30 am CET, as the dollar went 0.11% down against the yen, selling for ¥108.6675.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite advanced by 1.13% at 7:16 am CET, with the Shenzhen Composite soaring 2.01% at the same time. Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 0.62% at 7:31 am CET.
