WH: Climate change action creates job opportunities

White House National Climate Advisor Gina McCarthy (pictured) stated on Thursday that actions taken by the United States to fight climate change will create new jobs in the future.

McCarthy asserted that the new actions on cutting down emissions, announced by US President Joe Biden earlier today, are designed to be more than "avoiding an existential threat," but rather a chance to "increase US competitiveness" and "propel the manufacturing industry and US exports." She also reiterated the importance of the role of Biden's American Jobs Plan in reaching the new targets, stating that the infrastructure bill helps "tap the full potential of climate infrastructure."

Biden urged world leaders today to engage in the fight against climate change and unveiled that the US will up its global financing contributions to developing countries that have clean energy initiatives.
