FAA to penalize Boeing over model 737 problems - report
The Boeing Company has agreed to pay the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) the fees worth $17 million over the issues that occurred in the production of the firm's model 737, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on Thursday.
Boeing also accepted to take necessary steps to enhance the quality of its internal checks and conduct regular safety assessments, which the FAA will later review.
The news comes following the reports the FAA will investigate the production processes of Boeing's 737 MAX following the discovery of mechanical issues on those planes that led to two fatal air crashes.
