Precious metals advance as Delta fears persist

Prices of precious metals rose on Tuesday, extending the previous day's gains recorded mostly due to a weaker United States dollar.

The investors seemingly turned towards the safe-haven assets despite the stabilization of the US currency's trend, as the worries over the Delta variant's impact on the economic recovery persisted.

Gold increased by 0.06% to go for $1,806.35 per ounce at 10:29 am ET, while silver jumped 1.12% to $23.88 per ounce a minute later. Palladium surged 2.61% at 10:31 am ET, selling for $2,462.95 per ounce, with platinum concurrently unchanged at $1,018.13 per ounce.
