Precious metals rise after jobs data

Prices of precious metals increased on Friday after the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics unveiled that nonfarm employment in the country rose by 235,000 in August, failing to meet the analysts' expectations.

Gold gained 0.93% to go for $1,825.41 per ounce at 8:35 am ET. Silver advanced by 1.45% to sell for $24.26 per ounce a minute later.

Platinum moved up by 0.49% to change hands for $1,006.1 per ounce at 8:36 am ET, while palladium lost 0.23% to sell for $2,404.86 per ounce a minute after that.
