Oil gains 1% on supply worries, demand hopes

Prices of oil futures rose by 1% on Monday, building on the prior week's gains amid supply worries caused by Hurricane Ida in the United States.

Germany's Ministry of Economy predicted that the country's gross domestic product is likely to accelerate "significantly" in the year's third quarter.

International benchmark Brent for November delivery climbed 0.96% to sell for $73.62 per barrel at 5:30 am ET and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for settlements in October jumped 1.03% to go for $70.44 per barrel at the same time.
