Wall Street opens lower, Dow drops over 400 points

Markets on Wall Street opened with losses on Tuesday as investors focused on corporate earnings. Goldman Sachs missed estimates on the top and bottom line with revenue of $12.6 billion and EPS of $10.81. Meanwhile, Microsoft announced it reached a deal to buy Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion.

The Dow Jones fell 1.20% or 430 points at 9:30 am ET. The worst performer was Goldman Sachs, whose shares plunged 6.42% after worse-than-expected earnings.

The Nasdaq 100 slid 1.53% at 9:30 am ET. Datadog, Moderna, Atlassian and Cadence Design Systems all dropped more than 4%.

The S&P 500 was down 1.27% at 9:31 am ET.

The euro lost 0.40% against the dollar to sell for 1.13616 at 9:33 am ET.
