Honda Q3 revenue down 83% to $31.96B

Honda Motor Company, Ltd. announced on Wednesday that its sales revenue in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2022 observed an annual decline of 82.7% to land at ¥3.69 trillion, or $31.96 billion.

The company's operating profit came in at ¥229.4 billion, or $1.99 billion, declining by 48.2% in comparison to the same trimester the year before. Meanwhile, its diluted earnings per share stood at ¥112.42 per share, or $0.97 per share, decreasing by 31.7% year-on-year.

Speaking about its forecast for the fiscal year ending on March 31, 2022, the carmaker said that "Honda is expecting that the external business environment will remain challenging due primarily to the resurgence of COVID-19, the supply shortage of certain parts including semiconductors and a further increase in raw material cost." Despite that, it revised its predictions by ¥140 billion to ¥800 billion, or $6.93 billion.
