Honda's Q4 revenue up by 6.95% to ¥3.87 trillion

Honda Motor Company, Ltd. announced on Friday its revenue in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2022 saw an annual rise of 6.95% to come in at ¥3.87 trillion, or approximately $30 billion. On the other hand, its operating profit went down by 6.42% year-on-year to ¥199.5 billion, or approximately $1.55 billion. Meanwhile, the company's diluted earnings per share (EPS) lost 40.89% on an annual level to land at ¥73.02, or $0.56 per share.

In the entire fiscal year 2022, Honda's sales revenue rose by 10.49% in comparison to the previous year to stand at ¥14.55 trillion, or approximately $112.94 billion. Its operating profit experienced a yearly increase of 31.96% to hit ¥871.23 billion, or about $6.76 billion. The firm's diluted EPS grew by 7.97% year-on-year to reach ¥411.09, or approximately $3.19 per share.

"Despite certain unfavorable factors such as the resurgence of COVID-19, a decrease in automobile unit sales due to the semiconductor supply shortage and an increase in the cost of raw materials, consolidated operating profit for the fiscal year amounted to 871.2 billion yen [...] due primarily to success in reducing costs and controlling incentives, and favorable currency effects," Honda said in a statement.
