Turkey, Finland issue can be solved through talks - Finnish PM

Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin noted that issues Ankara has over Helsinki's accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization can be resolved through discussion, she explained in the Yle special broadcast on Monday evening.

"I assume we will become a member of NATO this year," she said arguing the Finnish authorities fail to understand why Turkey has changed its view on the country's entry to the alliance, as it has previously reassured Helsinki of its support.

Previously, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated he opposes the two Nordic countries joining the alliance, due to their "unclear" attitude against terrorism.
