Europe closes higher amid vote of no confidence

Major stock market indexes in Europe closed higher on Monday, ahead of the Conservative Members of Parliament's vote of no confidence in the United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson scheduled for this afternoon. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the grain export situation with the UK and Turkey.

The British FTSE 100 was 1.00% up at the close with Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC up 4.72%, while the CAC 40 increased by 0.98%, as Renault SA added 3.34%. The German DAX was closed due to the national Whit Monday holiday.

The euro lost 0.30% against the dollar to sell for 1.06855 at 5:30 pm CET, while the pound expanded by 0.30% to $1.25268.
