Santander names Hector Grisi new CEO
Banco Santander SA announced on Friday that it has proposed Hector Blas Grisi Checa as its new chief executive officer (CEO), replacing long-time executive Jose Antonio Alvarez. The decision will be effective as of January 1, 2023.
"I have great confidence in Hector. He has decades of experience and a deep understanding of our markets and our lines of business," said Ana Botin, Banco Santander's President. "His excellent results as CEO of Santander Mexico and head of North America speak for themselves and are the best proof of why the board has chosen him to lead the bank in this new phase of growth and transformation."
Santander's shares were up by 1.02% at 9:17 am CET to sell for €2.6625.
