US SPR at 497.9M barrels, lowest since 1986

The United States' Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) has fallen to 497.9 million barrels in the monthly period ending June 24, its lowest level since April 1986, the Department of Energy's (DoE) data showed on Monday.

The reserves of sweet crude landed at 234.3 million barrels, while those of sour crude came down to 263.5 million barrels.

Earlier in the day, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) announced it will not be releasing its weekly report on the country's oil stocks due to system restoration.
