Precious metals dip, gold under $1,800

Prices of precious metals continued the falling trend on Friday, with gold dropping under the $1,800 mark, hitting its lowest level since May 16.

The latest data on inflation in the Eurozone possibly rekindled fears of tightening monetary policy and rising interest rates, which seemingly drove investors away from gold.

Gold declined 0.95% to $1,790.19 per ounce at 7:20 am ET. Silver plunged 2.69% to $19.74 per ounce concurrently. Platinum slipped 1.38% to $884.01 per ounce at 7:21 am ET. Palladium fell 1.40% to $1,903.10 per ounce at the same time.
