Oil rises back above $100

Prices of crude oil rose by over 1.5% in overnight trade on Tuesday, after Brent crude settled at a 4-month low during the day, as West Texas Intermediate (WTI) slid below $100 for the first time since May.

The loss was largely attributed to growing recession fears and the resulting low fuel demand.

At 1:56 am CET, WTI for August settlement was up by 1.62%, going for $101.11 per barrel, while Brent for deliveries in September added 1.98% to settle at $104.80 per barrel.
