Russia could use nuclear weapons via plant incident - Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed on Thursday that Russia could "use nuclear weapons, but without a nuclear strike" by provoking "the largest accident in history" at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. The plant has been the site of several attacks recently, as both Russia and Ukraine shifted the responsibility for the strikes to the other side.

Zelensky accused Russia of "doing everything to maximize the risk of a nuclear disaster" and alleged that "the Russian occupiers use the Zaporizhzhia plant for terror and armed provocations."

"By placing military equipment on the territory of the plant and disposing of ammunition there, the Russian military cannot fail to know that they are putting the whole of Europe at risk of a nuclear disaster," the Ukrainian president said in a meeting with representatives of partner countries.
