Europe closes higher, DAX rises by more than 2%

Major stock market indexes in Europe closed higher on Monday following the reports of Kiev's forces' advances in Donbass and Russia's retreat from certain zones in Ukraine. Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated his country will be able to fill its gas storage beyond 90% for the forthcoming winter.

The DAX closed 2.40% or 314 points higher as Daimler Truck AG soared by 5.27%. The FTSE 100 rose by 1.71%, with Kingfisher PLC surging by 6.54%. The CAC 40 gained 2.01% as Renault SA jumped by 4.36%.

The euro grew by 0.82% against the dollar at 5:28 pm CET to sell for $1.01284, having reached its three-week high against the United States currency earlier in the day. At the same time, the pound sterling went up by 0.97% against the greenback, changing hands for $1.17001.
