Apple plans to fix how it charges commissions - S. Korea

Apple Inc. has announced its plans to voluntarily correct its approach to charging commissions to South Korean app developers by January 2023, South Korean Fair Trade Commission (FTC) Chairperson Han Ki-jeong revealed on Tuesday.

Developers from South Korea are required to pay a 33% commission to the iPhone maker, unlike their counterparts elsewhere, who are charged a commission rate three percentage points lower, the Asian country's antitrust regulator said, according to the Yonhap News Agency.

The FTC's investigation into Apple's actions started in September, Han also noted.
