Michel: EU in favor of China investment deal

European Council President Charles Michel stated on Thursday that the European Union is open to fully adopting the proposed Comprehensive Agreement on Investment (CAI) with China as that would strengthen the relations between the two sides and the stability of the supply chain.

Michel's comments came after his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, during which he said that Brussels is counting on Beijing's help in ending Russia's military operation in Ukraine.

Following the meeting, Xi expressed China's hopes for stronger ties with the EU, underlining that they do not share any strategic conflicts.
